Description

WITCH BOTTLE : A 16th to 18th-century talisman, primarily found in Great Britain and early American colonies, used as counter-magic to thwart witchcraft and evil spirits. These bottles, often made of glass or stoneware, were filled with urine, hair, nail clippings, & iron pins and nails, then buried under hearths, in chimneys, or in walls. Used to trap a witch’s spell and cause pain to the witch.
